Notice CB-CDA 2021-008
The Board issues Notice CB-CDA 2021-008 pursuant to the transitional provisions of the Time Limits in Respect of Matters Before the Copyright Board Regulations. Annex A lists all matters for which a notice of hearing is issued pursuant to section 8 of the Regulations. The Board also takes the opportunity to provide an update regarding all matters before it. Annexes B through D provide details with regards to the status of all files. Read the Notice here.

50-30 Challenge
The Copyright Board has joined the 50-30 Challenge, an initiative between the Government of Canada, business and diversity organizations. The goal of the program is to challenge Canadian organizations to increase the representation and inclusion of diverse groups within their workplace, while highlighting the benefits of giving all Canadians a seat at the table. The Board is proud to commit to make diversity alive, respected and celebrated in its daily activities.
The Board Is Now on CanLII
The Copyright Board’s reasons for decision published since January 2020 are now available on CanLII. This news adds to the many efforts the Board has undertaken since 2018 to modernize its practices and better inform parties, the legal and academic communities and the public about its activities and tariff-setting processes.
Discover the Board's Collection on Decisia
Decisia is a research platform that allows users to have access to the resources made available by the Board. Users can search all decisions and approved tariffs going back to the creation of the Copyright Board. Documents can be browsed using the different collections: reasons for decisions, approved tariffs, unlocatable copyright owners, and many others. Additionally, users can subscribe to a mailing list and receive weekly updates on the publication of new documents.
The Board Welcomes Its New Chair
The Copyright Board welcomes with enthusiasm its new Chair, the Honourable Luc Martineau. Justice Martineau was appointed to this position on October 2, 2020, for a five-year term. Find his biography here. For more details, read Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s news release.
