Forward Regulatory Plan: 2018-2020

This plan provides information on regulatory proposals that the Copyright Board of Canada expects to bring forward over the next two years. It also identifies public consultation opportunities and a departmental contact point for each regulatory initiative.

Copyright Board Rules

Description of the objective:

New regulations will be made pursuant to Part VII of the Copyright Act to address issues related to the practices and procedures of the Copyright Board.

Indication of business impacts:

There may be business impacts. The One-for-One Rule and/or the Small Business Lens may apply.

Public consultation opportunities:

Consultations on general policy direction have already taken place. In 2015, the Copyright Board consulted on their Operations, Procedures and Processes, and in 2017 Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Canadian Heritage and the Copyright Board consulted more broadly on Options for Reform to the Copyright Board of Canada. There will be further opportunity to consult on specific draft regulations in early 2019.
